ZZPL.RS – Website Information

ZZPL.RS was created from a desire to make personal data protection more approachable to citizens and companies, primarily by offering a web presentation of the Serbian Law on Personal Data Protection (ZZPL), but also through blog articles that clarify law terms and legal institutes, and share interesting data protection and privacy information from around the globe.

The Law text often references other articles, making searching difficult and ineffective, especially as you have to jump from one article to another. That’s why I came to the idea of creating a website dedicated to the Serbian Law on Personal Data Protection, inspired by international websites that have done it in a similar way. Each law section has its own webpage, and you can also jump straight to the articles by their number, making your search easier.

I have also noticed that the English translation of the Serbian Law on Personal Data Protection isn’t available online.

The blog will cover a wide range of topics and make the content accessible and easy to understand to a broad audience, especially considering that personal data protection is a right of individuals but is also very important to different types of companies whose businesses rely on that data. Considering that the Serbian Law on Personal Data Protection is based on the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to a great extent, I will try to draw parallels between Serbian and international data protection practices.

ZZPL.RS will strive to become a reliable source of information about personal data protection, which I find exceptionally important in times when unverified AI-generated content is flooding the web.

I hope that you will find ZZPL.RS both interesting and helpful!
